What you need to have when reporting a claim

Details of the incident (such as the date, where the damage occurred, any other vehicles involved)

Other drivers' details such as name, address and licence number (if available)

Information about any other people, vehicles or property involved

Take precautions to prevent further loss, damage or liability

Notify the police if necessary as soon as reasonably possible

Have your policy number available and details of what has happened
