Underwriting Officer – Agriculture

Qualifications:
Responsible for leading the technical underwriting function for agriculture insurance products by assessing risks, developing pricing models, and ensuring sound underwriting decisions aligned with the company's risk appetite and profitability goals.
Responsibilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Insurance will be an added advantage.
- At least three years of experience.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
Responsible for leading the technical underwriting function for agriculture insurance products by assessing risks, developing pricing models, and ensuring sound underwriting decisions aligned with the company's risk appetite and profitability goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite insurance applications for agricultural clients (crops, livestock, and agri-business operations).
- Evaluate risk exposure and analyze farm data, weather patterns, and pest/disease risk.
- Ensure compliance with underwriting manuals, reinsurance treaties, and regulatory requirements.
- Determine appropriate premium rates, coverage limits, and policy terms.
- Support the development of new agricultural insurance products.
- Collaborate with claims and sales teams to manage portfolio performance.
- Stay updated on agricultural trends and regulatory requirements.
